IOFS READY TO ROLL

January 23, 2009 - Indianapolis, IN - International Outlaw Figure 8 Series ( IOFS ) today announced their much anticipated inaugural schedule.

The newly formed Outlaw traveling series is set for a very impressive and exciting season if their schedule is any indication. The series will travel to a variety of venues including many which have never hosted Outlaw Figure 8's before.

The schedule features events at five speedways in three states although two are listed as tentative. Speedways of interest are two events at the recently reopened Kentucky Motor Speedway in Whitesville, KY and three dates at Plymouth, Indiana. The Plymouth events will showcase Figure 8 racing for the first time in speedway history.

A surprise addition to the schedule is Slinger Super Speedway in Sliger, WI with a tentative date.If this date holds this would be the first-ever appearance of Outlaw Figure 8 racing in the Badgerland area. Other speedways listed on the schedule include Anderson, IN and Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green, KY.

Series representatives Charlie Hargraves and David Sink expressed extreme satisfaction with the inaugural season schedule. "Charlie worked closely with the promoters all winter long for the best possible dates for our fans and teams. Although it was challenging I think everyone should be excited and there may still be additions" Sink insisted. " We had originally announced dates for Montpelier, IN Speedway but the speedway has a new promoter in place. We will work closely with the new promoter and see if we cant get those folks involved again for all our fans who had hoped for some dirt on our schedule. Overall I'm proud of how hard Charlie ( Hargraves ) worked on putting an entertaining schedule together for our first season".

The series will now put its focus and attention on purse and tire details both of which will be released in time for the series participation in the Indy Circle Track Expo Trade Show. The show scheduled for Jan. 31 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianaplois, IN.

Not exactly what I was hoping for.....
There are more (tenatives) than there are races....
Wisconsin....What were you thinking there? I thought you were trying to save the racers money!
I really would like to see these cars at Beechbend though...
You'll be glad you didn't run on dirt....
Keep working at it, maybe it will get better!

I can't belive what I am reading I thought everyone wanted some new and different tracks to run here is someone taking their time and effort (at no profit to them) to try to do that. Keep up the good work Charlie and Dave. I don't think you have anything to be embarrassed about at least you are trying to get figure8 out there to other tracks instead of playing it safe and staying at the drome forever. I think it is a longer haul to Fla then wi and running for less money. I only saw 3 tenative dates and 8 set dates . I think it is already good. I just want to let Charlie and Dave know that Chuck's racecar parts and the whole Hargraves racing family are behind you, time for a change. shackpack28 call me. thank You Chuck and Lou Anne Hargraves

I beleive that they are doing what they love to do. I also believe that they are doing it for the wrong reasons...
Wisconsin....A million miles away!
Kentucky Motor Speedway....Close to 300 miles away for you guys.
I think they should give up on the series and just be a side show at a few tracks. You can not get enough support to put on a series. I said this a long time ago. But you can get enough support to run at a few different race tracks throughout the year.
You had Shack as one of the biggest fans of this series turn and go the other way. How many other racers are gonna do the same? Why are they gonna travel all those miles to race when they can race in their back yard? You will get a decent turn out at Anderson, but other than that, you be lucky to get 10 cars to show up.

Good Luck...

dont forget about the 15 year old broke down slow Novas that were not fast enough to get out of their own way Artie, that brings the car count up to an amazing 11 cars per race. This series is NOT about the fans or drivers!!,it's about trying to "get back" at the Speedrome.I care very little about the Speedrome management and the way they do things, but dont try and blow smoke up peoples azzes and make it sound like the IOFS is trying to do this for us fans and drivers. If Chucks Race Car Parts was still selling parts at the Speedrome NOBODY would have EVER heard of the IOFS!!

I am not going to get in a word fight with you, I am going to state some facts. Chuck's race car parts is not selling parts at the Speedrome by choice. We could have went back any time we wanted, and in fact were asked back by the owner right after the three hour. After being there selling parts for 25 years at every kind of race and only missing 2 nights, We also would like to go to other tracks. What charlie and Dave are doing is something they want to do and in fact it started the first of 08 when we were still at the drome. If you don't like or support them that is up to you, however we do and we do it because we want to and no other reason. If cars don't want to follow them and the car count does not come in from the other tracks then they will find that out. Do not make this about the Speedrome and getting back at them. This is something that Charlie and Dave are doing for the love of racing other places and for the drivers and fans. I did not know that Shak has turned against us. Keep this about racing. Lou Anne

ok mrs hargraves you have to understand a big thing about the world figure 8 tour and the iof8s is that the wf8t is being run by the speedrome which has ran for 40 yrs of figure8 raceing and has the three hour to promote and you guys they know the name hargraves but that alone is not enough so the thing is people KNOW the speedrome but as i said before you are trying to compete with them and nobody can tell me otherwise
